One of my hard drives packed in a while ago and that was bad enough.

When i ordered mine, i got it from dell custome built and they set me a time of 2 weeks for delivery.
I had ordered it on the Friday and it turned up 3 days later on Monday.

If they have everything in stock and not an exceptional amount of orders, your order is usually starting to go through the construction 20 minutes after your order is completed. Within a couple of hours (including quality assurance) or so it's completed and ready for shipping. Say what you want about Dell, but they are the world champions on logistics. And since the factory is on Ireland, you can probably get it as you said, within 3 days in the UK. It usually took 5 days to get it Sweden, but the computers sold to Sweden are nowadays made in Poland, which probably means a day or two less.
Even though I knew all this, I always said 2-3 weeks to my customers, so they could positively surprised instead of disappointed if it got stuck somewhere for a day or two.

what customers do you have ferus?

It's been 2 years since I left Dell, but when I worked for them my main customer was in public, mostly in health care.
But I still i have very good contacts within Dell so keeping in touch and up to date.
